The 457-100-349 VNXe Series Software Base Software comes standard with EMC Unisphere for application-aware management; file deduplication with compression for increased efficiencies; thin provisioning for adding storage on-demand; and various protocols including iSCSI, CIFS, and NFS.
This BASE OE software is required for all Dual Processor VNXe 3100 systems.

The VNXe3100 457-100-349 storage system base Operating Environment is part of the VNXe family that provides a unified platform for scaling, provisioning, managing, and monitoring your application data storage in all size networks. These storage systems offer highly efficient iSCSI block storage and highly accessible file based storage. Network-attached storage (NAS) and iSCSI block data storage protocols are supported on these unified platforms. This allows you to work with both files and block data over existing network connections.
The VNXe3100 457-100-349 is suited for specific applications, host operating systems, and ease of management. The management software, Unisphere, can be used to create, configure, and monitor storage resources for most popular applications.
